Mik Scarlet now offers a Disability and Access Consultancy service. He has provided Access Audits and advice to many businesses, with the majority being in the entertainment industries. He has given talks and speeches on the disability issues at events of different sizes, from major conferences to face to face staff training days. Mik also is focusing on assisting major building projects conform to Section M Building Regs and Health & Safety rules and are also fully DDA compliant.

For over 10 years Mik has been involved in this field. He started this work working with the team developing the Ocean Venue in Hackney, which was one the UK's first fully accessible venues. It even had wheelchair accessible lighting rigs and had a sound & lighting system that could be used by the Deaf & Blind people. He then went on to advise venues throughout London, such as The Ministry of Sound, and has most recently advised Koko in Camden on how to make the listed venue accessible to disabled people.

Mik is currently working with Stables Market Holdings PLC and Stanley Sidings towards the goal of improving the disabled access throughout the famous Stables Market in Camden, and to ensuring the new Hawley Wharf development is fully inclusive. He also is about to roll out a package of disability awareness measures for all market staff and stall holders.

Mik's disability awareness talks are acknowledged as being very informative, easy to understand and make the issues around disability accessible to those who may never have had to consider them before. He has worked for a variety of major companies, charities and educational establishments, appearing in front of audiences of 3 to 3000.

Mik creates a consultancy package designed to suit the requirements of whoever hires him, and ensures that once a company uses his services a long term working relationship is formed.
